a motivated leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for using technology to harness improvement. Previous experience with electronic prescribing systems is not essential, but an understanding of existing processes and a passion for digital change is vital.

UHBW will introduce CareFlow Medicines Management (CMM) as its Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system in 2025. Registered Nurses & Midwives, the largest professional group of CMM users, are responsible for the safe administration of medications 24/7.
This role provides senior expert nursing/midwifery advice to the CMM project team, ensuring design decisions and workflows align with best practices and NMC standards, with patient safety at the core. The postholder will work with Ward Sisters and Clinical Matrons to standardise drug administration processes, incorporating learnings from safety incidents and thematic reviews. They will engage frontline teams to fully realise the patient safety benefits of the software and participate in thematic reviews of patient safety errors.
The postholder will support the development of digital learning materials for safe medication practice within CMM, working with the CMM project team and Digital Learning Team to lead and deliver training to nurses & midwives, including superuser training. They will collaborate with nurses and midwives to develop and implement CMM, lead the business continuity workstream, and develop policies and Standard Operating Procedures for consistent practice. The postholder will continuously improve CMM adoption and user experience, gather feedback for enhancements, review and prioritise change requests, and provide ongoing support, troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth system operation.
