Your Opportunity:
The Program Manager for Women's Health at the Misericordia Community Hospital is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight for the Labour and Delivery, and Postpartum units. This position works collaboratively with the site, Zonal and Provincial programs to enhance women’s health service delivery. This role provides a leadership opportunity within a progressive and dynamic team, working with key internal and external stakeholders.
Description:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations this position is responsible for the leadership and operations of Labour & Delivery, Obstetrical Outpatient Unit, Antepartum, and Postpartum units. The Program Manager works closely with Unit Managers for the daily management of the delegated areas, their efficient function and performance, and ensuring quality and safe care. The position monitors operational budgets, and participates in operational planning at the program level. The Program Manager adheres to and serves as a role model for the Covenant Health mission, vision and values and will serve to continue the program priority of enhancing reconciliation. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or a healthcare discipline is required. Must have at least 8-10 years progressive responsibility experience within a clinical care setting. Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory/management level position required, which includes financial and operational planning and staff supervision. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. CPR certification required. Active annual registration with professional association required. On call requirements for the site is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Progressive leadership experience in health service delivery, including practical experience in strategy and policy development, change leadership, budget management and project management. A proven track record of success in health leadership. Strong clinical knowledge and skill. Current computer skills along with familiarity with programs and software. Provides evidence of professional development. Exhibits excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills. Exhibits sound problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent coaching and conflict management skills. Flexible with change. Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree preferred.
