Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)Job Specialty: Obstetrics, Labor and DeliveryJob Duration: 13 WeeksShift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PMGuaranteed Hours: 36 per weekExperience: Minimum of 7 years in relevant fieldLicense: Current RN licensureCertifications: CPR certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employmentMust-Have: Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situationsJob Description:- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice- Deliver care to women in labor through delivery and postpartum- Provide direct care to newborns, ensuring all aspects of maternal childcare- Perform assessments and monitor labor progress- Prepare for C-sections and inductions- Document nursing care accurately- Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum, including infant care and patient education- Prepare delivery rooms and offer emotional support- Coordinate patient transfers- Administer IV medications according to protocols- Adhere to infection control principles and department policies- Exhibit knowledge and interest in obstetrics and relevant equipment- Interact effectively with diverse individuals and maintain good communication skills- Adapt to varying shifts and areas as staffing requires- Be on call as required- Work involves long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting, with exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells, and potential infectious diseases
