About Clinical Education (Social Work)
The Allied Health Clinical Education team supports the Women’s to achieve its strategic directions by the provision of frameworks for the professional development of allied health professionals (therapists and scientists). The team supports the development, growth and wellbeing of the current and future workforce of allied health professionals. The team collaborates with other health professional education teams at The Women’s to promote best practice clinical learning environments and implementing statewide frameworks including the Allied Health Clinical Supervision Framework and Credentialling, Competency and Capability Framework.
About the role
The Clinical Educator (Social Work) is part of the team responsible for implementing the Allied Health Clinical Education Program. The program embeds an allied health professional education, training, and development framework at the Women’s and ensure governance obligations and expectations are met or exceeded. The Clinical Education Team will promote and contribute to the development of a culture of learning, reflective and evidence-based practice.
A regular day will see you working with an innovative and dynamic team, dedicated to working together with Allied Health teams and other key stakeholders to design, develop and deliver education and training programs that support Allied Health workforce development and wellbeing.
You will also support allied health to develop their supervision capacity to provide exceptional peer and student supervision programs. You will also be working on the collation, analysis and preparation of high-quality reports related to Allied Health Clinical Education related data. You will also be working a range of key internal and external stakeholders dedicated to Allied Health workforce education and training.
About you
You’ll bring with you:
- An Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) approved social work qualification from an Australian tertiary institution; or Qualifications from overseas from an AASW approved social work qualification.
- Experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of high-quality education/training programs for clinical staff, interns and/or students
- Well-developed communication skills (spoken and written) and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of current educational policy and directives in the government and health sector
- Understanding of tertiary education models, internship programs and clinical training systems within the Victorian context
- Working knowledge of interprofessional education, andragogy, and adult learning
