Boston IVF, Managed by RMA is seeking a Clinical Registered Nurse Coordinator to join our growing team in our Nursing department located in Providence, RI.
SUMMARY
Provides primary nursing care to patients undergoing all aspects of advanced reproductive technology (ART)).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works in conjunction with other nurses, physicians, laboratory personnel, data entry, OR staff, admins and receptionist to ensure the smooth daily follow of the clinical practice. Daily duties include but are not limited to the following:
Nursing activities
- Coordinates all aspects of ART treatment and provides primary care nursing for a specific team of physicians (will cross cover other physicians as needed); collaborates with rest of team for quality patient care – nurses, insurance coordinators, and admins
- Understands clinical protocols and participates in treatment plan and decision making with physicians
- Meets with patients after in person consults to review next steps in care or via email/phone if telehealth consult
- Gathers, checks, and implements all necessary data and paperwork for patients undergoing care
- Ability to triage patient appropriately and communicate with physicians when necessary to bring patient in for exam, or counsel over the phone
- Explains procedures and treatment plans to increase patient understanding and reduce anxiety, is able to complete an injection lesson in the absence of patient educator
- Has rudimentary knowledge of donor egg/recipient protocols and treatment plans
- Precepts new staff, acts as a role model for nurses new to infertility
- Perform IUIs, injections and communicates those protocols to patients
- Maintains appropriate license/certification
- Other duties as assigned in nursing scope
Communication
- Documentation in EIVF and communication book is complete, legible, accurate, and concise
- Makes, receives and returns patient calls in a timely manner
- Communicates with rest of staff if issues arise
- Makes sure insurance approval is in place by communicating with the insurance coordinator
- Speaks in a pleasant, calm voice when interacting with patients and co-workers
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times, in and out of the office
- Enters data into computer as needed for ultrasound, blood work, or patient history
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time in an efficient, accurate and calm manner
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and LICENSURE
OB and/or GYN experience preferred, fertility experience highly preferred
Current unincumbered MA RN License
Current unincumbered RN License in the state hired for if other than MA
