A Brief Overview
Performs all aspects of the Andrology laboratory, including Testicular Biopsies’ specimen preparation.
What You Will Do
- Performs clerical tasks to contribute to the successful operation of the laboratory.
- Follows established policy and protocols for quality control, andrology procedures and standard set forth by state and federal agency including Ohio department of health, College of American Pathologist (CAP), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- Participates in a learning environment, including continued development and learning of knowledge and skills.
- Maintains proper communication and interaction with patients, clinical staff, and laboratory personnel.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies.
- Maintains cryo inventory process and documentation for andrology tanks to ensure compliance. Communicates with patients and third party on the status of their tissue preservation.
- Requires to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
- Excels in training, leading and motivating other staff.
- Performs assignments as requested by Lab Director.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree of science in a Biological Science with 2 years of experience in all aspect of andrology procedure. (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of reproductive biology including male reproductive system and excels in Andrology techniques including Testicular Biopsies specimen Preparations. (Required proficiency)
- Proficient in all aspects of Andrology procedures. (Required proficiency)
- Appropriate knowledge of Microsoft office, excel, PowerPoint and Access. (Required proficiency)
- Excellent communication skills.. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- MT Certificate from American Association of Bioanalysts (Preferred)
