The post holder is responsible for supporting the Pre-Registration Team in the delivery and support of midwifery student placements.
Supporting pre-registration students in the clinical environment
Act as a supportive, professional role model and resource for staff & learners in practice, the classroom and external organisations
Liaise effectively and proactively with external organisations to maximise placements support and opportunities
The post holder will be able to problem solve using a collaborative approach
Design, teach and deliver sessions, to pre-registration students and Trust employees.
Ensure systems are in place to protect the service users, staff and students in clinical areas
Provide advice and guidance for Service / Team / Unit Managers to enable them to provide suitable learning environments and appropriately prepared mentors. Offer advice and support to clinicians undertaking the mentorship / assessor / supervisor role. Work to increase the number of mentors that have the appropriate qualifications for mentoring students as defined by Professional bodies
Assist with the monitoring, maintenance and development of the quality in all aspects of midwifery clinical placement provision liaising with the Pre-Registration Team regarding interpreting health service policy to establish goals and standards
