The Mission Neighborhood Health Center (MNHC) is a non-profit, multi-site community health organization offering comprehensive health services in the Mission and Excelsior Districts of San Francisco. We are currently looking for qualified candidates for our
Immunization Coordinator role. This position reports to the
Senior Nurse Manager and is a Regular, Full Time, Non-Exempt role with a starting
hourly range of $25.16 to $27.04 with full benefits.
Primary Objective
The Immunization Coordinator supports vaccine management, data reporting, and other clinical operations projects in multiple sites.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Vaccine Management (85%)
- Coordinate and ensure compliance with multiple vaccine program requirements. As Vaccine Coordinator, serve as day-to-day contact with external public programs, including but not limited to: Vaccines for Children, Vaccines for Adults, SFDPH Influenza Program, SFDPH Hepatitis Program, and the California COVID-19 Vaccination Program.
- Oversee proper storage and handling of vaccine deliveries and transport, including as needed, implementation of emergency response plans.
- Report temperature excursions and compliance issues to Supervisor in a timely manner. Maintain all program documentation, such as inventory and temperature logs. Monitor operation of storage equipment and systems.
- Monitor vaccine inventory, ordering, and storage, and train additional key staff as needed.
- Monitor expiration dates of vaccines, remove expired vaccines and dispose per established protocols.
- In consultation with the Director of Clinical Operations and Quality Improvement, maintain relations with vaccine programs, SFDPH, and private entities’ key staff regarding programs and products.
- Coordinate utilization of California Immunization Registry (CAIR), including but not limited to set-up and troubleshoot interface with electronic health record, create CAIR access for staff, and coordinate training for relevant staff.
- Oversee and implement accurate documentation of vaccine inventory and immunization orders in Epic (MNHC's Electronic Health Record).
- Support annual Flu Clinic and immunizations for staff and patients.
- Support monthly Medical Assistant and Registered Nurse trainings and report on vaccine clinic performance at meetings
- In the COVID-19 pandemic: Coordinate proper tracking, inventory, delivery, transport, storage and handling, and documentation of multiple COVID Vaccines.
- Attend required trainings for participation in the various State-sponsored vaccine programs.
Other (15%)
- Attend and actively participate in monthly Quality Improvement Committee and other meetings as delegated by Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma.
- Associate degree preferred (but may be substituted with experience).
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- 2 years of health care experience preferred.
- Familiarity with third party reimbursement programs preferred.
- Non-profit, community health care setting experience preferred.
- Organizational skills.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Experience with Practice Management systems and Electronic Health Records.
- Ability to work professionally and ethically within multi-cultural settings, including ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of persons, documents, data, and communications.
