Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist (Ultrasound Tech) to join our imaging team. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic medical sonography to capture high-quality images used by physicians to diagnose and treat patients. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a patient-centered approach to care. The Ultrasound Tech will be responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound exams, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining accurate records. Key Responsibilities: Perform Ultrasound Exams: Conduct ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and other specialized imaging studies as required. Ensure high-quality, clear, and accurate images for diagnostic purposes. Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort. Position patients appropriately to obtain the best possible images. Patient Safety and Comfort: Ensure patient safety and comfort during the procedure. Provide reassurance and support to patients, especially those who may be anxious or uncomfortable. Operate Ultrasound Equipment: Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment and use imaging technology to produce diagnostic-quality images. Adjust settings as needed based on patient size, anatomy, and examination requirements. Image Quality Assurance: Ensure all images meet diagnostic standards. Review images to confirm they are clear and correctly documented before submitting them to the radiologist or physician for review. Collaboration with Physicians and Radiologists: Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to communicate findings and assist in evaluating diagnostic results. Ensure images are available for interpretation in a timely manner. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs. Document patient history, clinical information, and ultrasound results according to facility protocols. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain ultrasound equipment in good working order, ensuring routine cleaning, calibration, and basic troubleshooting. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel. Quality Control and Safety Protocols: Follow all safety procedures, infection control practices, and protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. Adhere to radiation safety standards as necessary. Patient Education: Provide patients with post-procedure instructions, and explain the next steps in their care, including follow-up appointments or additional tests if required.
9636070EXPPLAT Job Requirements NH License of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy ARDMS BLS (AHA) Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (required). Certification in Ultrasound Technology (ARDMS or equivalent) preferred, or eligibility to obtain certification within a specified period. Current state licensure as an Ultrasound Technologist (where applicable). Prior experience in ultrasound imaging preferred but not required. Knowledge of ultrasound anatomy, techniques, and safety protocols. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain procedures and provide compassionate care. Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population and healthcare team. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures.
