Pay Information $3,070 to $3,145 per week About The Position Key Responsibilities : Patient Preparation : Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort. Position patients correctly for optimal imaging. Apply ultrasound gel to the area being examined. Ultrasound Imaging : Operate ultrasound equipment to capture images of organs, tissues, and blood vessels. Perform diagnostic exams, such as obstetric and gynecological scans, abdominal scans, and vascular studies. Assess the quality of images to ensure they meet diagnostic standards. Data Analysis & Reporting : Review ultrasound images to ensure they are clear and suitable for diagnostic purposes. Record findings and create reports for physicians. Maintain patient records and imaging data accurately. Collaboration : Work closely with radiologists, doctors, and other medical staff to discuss patient care and results. Assist in interpreting results and discussing possible next steps with the healthcare team. Equipment Maintenance : Ensure that ultrasound equipment is functioning properly. Perform routine checks and report any malfunctions or need for maintenance. Patient Care : Address patient concerns and provide reassurance during the procedure. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to healthcare regulations. Skills and Qualifications : Education : Associate’s degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited program. Licensure/Certification : Most employers require certification from a recognized body, such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) . Technical Skills : Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and interpreting images. Communication Skills : Ability to effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals. Attention to Detail : Strong focus on accuracy and precision in obtaining and analyzing diagnostic images. Physical Stamina : Ability to work with patients in various positions and perform tasks that may require standing for long periods.
