We are seeking a friendly, experienced Patient Care Assistant to assist our staff in Pre-Op, OR and PACU with the safe, effective and efficient care of patients.
HOURS: 6:30am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday, 2 weekends (days) per month, and rotating holidays.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assists with room turnover between cases.
- Keeps operating rooms properly stocked.
- Removes linen, trash and sharps from OR and transports to appropriate storage areas.
- Stocks scrub sink area and restocks blanket warmer
- Assists with patient transport, transfer and lifting using proper body mechanics.
- Demonstrates understanding of age-specific needs/behaviors.
- Identifies opportunities to improve patient safety and participates in projects and programs designed to reduce error and improve safety.
- Demonstrates correct knowledge of all OR equipment and supplies.
- Practices and knows aseptic technique.
- Retrieves and stocks clean and sterile supplies within the facility.
- Retrieves and stores equipment as needed.
- Assists staff in Pre-Op/PACU as needed and directed.
- Assists staff in OR as needed and directed.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required
- At least One (1) year related job experience
- Current BLS required
