Job Summary

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments accurately using various EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
Collect payments and perform medical collections when necessary, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently while updating patient information in the EMR system.
Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, and medical billing details.
Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism; provide excellent phone etiquette while addressing patient inquiries or directing calls appropriately.
Maintain organized medical records and files—both electronic and paper—ensuring compliance with health information management standards.
Assist with office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and managing office supplies.
Verify insurance details and process claims efficiently
Support clinical staff by coordinating patient intake procedures and preparing necessary documentation for appointments.
Uphold HIPAA compliance at all times to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns promptly and courteously.
Perform clerical duties including faxing, scanning documents, updating EHR systems and managing appointment reminders.

Experience

Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with OBGYN terminology or hospital settings is a plus.
Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems
Strong understanding of medical coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes.
Knowledge of insurance verification procedures including Medicare guidelines.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Demonstrated ability to handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
