Putnam County Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our imaging department. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures including obstetric, gynecologic, abdominal, color Doppler, and vascular exams. This position requires strong technical ability, excellent patient care skills, and effective teamwork within a fast-paced clinical environment.
Location: Greencastle, IN
Facility: Putnam County Hospital
· Full-time – 36 hours per week
· Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
· On-Call Requirement: One day every 4th weekend
· Self-scheduling: One month at a time
· Starting Pay: $30.00/hour (increase based on experience)
· Shift Differentials: Available for evenings and weekends
What You’ll Do
- Perform high-quality ultrasound imaging following established protocols and physician requests
- Utilize 2-D mode, A-mode, M-mode, B-mode, digital Doppler, and real-time techniques
- Demonstrate proficiency and experience in vascular imaging (required)
- Ensure accurate documentation and image management in CPSI (extension of MediTech) EMR system
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and nursing staff to provide optimal patient care
- Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and comfort during all procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation and weekend coverage as scheduled
What You Bring to Putnam
- Completion of an MA and JRCERT-accredited program in radiologic sciences
- ARRT certification
- Current certification in General Radiography by the Indiana State Board of Health
- Completion of an AMA-accredited ultrasound program
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or ARRT
- Experience in obstetric, gynecologic, abdominal, color Doppler, and peripheral vascular ultrasound
- Vascular experience required
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound principles, instrumentation, and anatomy
- Excellent communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills
