Primary title: Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
About the Opportunity
A clinician-focused role in the private healthcare sector delivering women’s health, maternity and surgical gynaecology services. The position is fully on-site across modern hospital facilities serving antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal populations as well as elective and emergency gynaecologic surgery.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient obstetric and gynaecologic care including antenatal clinics, labour ward management, and postnatal follow-up.
- Perform obstetric and gynaecologic procedures—caesarean sections, assisted vaginal deliveries, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy—ensuring surgical safety and documentation.
- Lead management of high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies; coordinate multidisciplinary care with neonatology and anaesthesia teams.
- Interpret obstetric imaging and prenatal screening results; initiate appropriate referral or intervention plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records, consent processes, and participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and clinical audits to improve outcomes.
- Mentor junior doctors and nursing staff, contribute to protocol development, and support continuous quality improvement in maternal and gynaecologic services.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) or DGO
- Valid medical registration to practice in India
- Demonstrable experience in surgical gynaecology and obstetric procedures
- Proven competence in managing high-risk obstetrics and emergency deliveries
- Strong clinical documentation and familiarity with hospital protocols and audit processes
- Ability to work on-site including shift and labour-room coverage
Preferred
- Fellowship or advanced training in minimal access surgery or maternal-fetal medicine
- Experience with labour ward leadership or clinical governance roles
- Exposure to teaching or mentoring in a hospital setting
