Role Overview
Our Chandler women’s health clinic is looking for an Obstetric Sonographer to join our imaging team. This role is ideal for a skilled, patient-focused sonographer interested in working in a supportive outpatient environment. You’ll conduct a variety of OB and gynecologic imaging studies, assist physicians with procedures, and ensure high-quality diagnostic information that directly impacts patient care.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Review the day’s schedule and verify patient/referral details
- Enter imaging orders into Athena to ensure proper workflow
- Greet and guide patients to the ultrasound suite; explain exam steps
- Prepare rooms and patients for procedures and imaging
- Perform pelvic and obstetric ultrasounds, including Doppler assessments
- Assist with specialized procedures (sonohysterograms, amniocentesis, CVS)
- Document and prepare imaging reports in Viewpoint
- Alert physicians to abnormal findings and provide image previews
- Submit billing for completed studies
- Care for ultrasound equipment and manage probe cleaning/sterilization
- Track supplies and request restocking when needed
- Report issues with equipment or imaging software
- Participate in QA activities, HIPAA/OSHA training, and regulatory compliance
- Help onboard and mentor new sonographers
Required Credentials
- Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Nuchal Translucency certification
- Completion of at least 10 ultrasound CMEs annually
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm during urgent situations
- Team-oriented mindset with a patient-centered approach
