Overview
Federal Hearings and Appeals Services (FHAS) is a URAC-accredited Independent Medical Review Organization (IRO) with Health Utilization Management (HUM) accreditation. For the past 30 years, we have provided external peer review services to healthcare organizations, government agencies, insurance companies, and legal entities. The types of case reviews you would perform include medical necessity, standard of care, and Workman’s Compensation claims.
We are currently expanding our elite panel of physicians licensed in the state of TEXAS or NEW MEXICO to assist with independent review claims and appeals in the following specialties:

Responsibilities

Conduct fair and unbiased reviews based on current evidence-based practices and standards of care.

Review medical records, address all required questions, and provide written reports with final determinations on medical necessity, quality of care, and appropriateness of treatment.

Make objective decisions supported by detailed rationales.

Provide assessments on issues such as diagnosis, mechanism of injury, treatment regimens, and disability claims.
Qualifications

Must hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of TEXAS or NEW MEXICO.

Must be board-certified by a medical specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).

Must be in active practice with at least 5 years of clinical experience in the required specialties mentioned above.

No history of restrictions, limitations, or malpractice claims.
