We specialize in early gender determination, 3D/4D elective ultrasounds, and have recently expanded into self-pay diagnostic ultrasounds. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking an experienced and reliable Diagnostic Sonographer to serve as a part-time and as-needed backup to our current diagnostic and elective ultrasound team. This is an excellent fit for someone who values flexibility, consistency, and working with a respected, family-oriented ultrasound practice.
Position Overview
The Backup Diagnostic Sonographer will provide ultrasound coverage as needed—primarily to fill in for staff absences, additional appointment demand, or occasional evening/weekend sessions. This role requires an experienced professional confident in both diagnostic (OB/GYN, Abdomen, Vascular, Superficial Parts, IVF Fertility Monitoring) and elective 3D/4D imaging.
You’ll play an important part in maintaining continuity of care and high-quality imaging standards for our clients and patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of OB/GYN, Abdomen, Vascular, Superficial Parts, IVF Fertility diagnostic ultrasound exams (including transabdominal and transvaginal).
- Perform 3D/4D elective ultrasounds with a focus on quality imaging and patient experience.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and ensure their comfort and understanding.
- Capture and send studies to the radiologist for interpretation using EMSOW.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and comply with HIPAA standards.
- Ensure proper care and operation of ultrasound equipment (GE Voluson E8 systems).
- Collaborate effectively with the existing sonography team and management.
- Uphold company standards for professionalism, compassion, and image quality.
Qualifications
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with OB/GYN certification.
- Minimum 2 years of diagnostic ultrasound experience (required).
- Proficiency in transabdominal and transvaginal imaging.
- Experience with GE Voluson E8 systems preferred.
- Experience in 3D/4D elective ultrasound imaging (preferred but not required, we can train the right individual).
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professional judgment.
- Associate degree or completion of an accredited medical sonography program (required).
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-Time / As-Needed / On-Call
- Typically 2-8 hour shifts, depending on coverage needs
- Flexible scheduling – weekday & weekend daytime hours
- Compensation based on experience
