Full-time-Permanent Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist
Description
Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB, R3C 5R9) and The University of Manitoba, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences invite applications for a full-time Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist.
The successful candidate will provide clinical care and contribute to academic excellence in the management of high-risk pregnancies. The position requires expertise in both high-risk maternal care and fetal medicine, including fetal health surveillance and prenatal diagnosis. Job duties are required in English.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide high-risk maternal outpatient care at HSC Women’s Hospital
- Conduct Fetal Assessment outpatient clinics at HSC and St. Boniface Hospital, providing tertiary-level ultrasound services and counselling
- Deliver inpatient antepartum, postpartum, and intrapartum care
- Option to participate in after-hours obstetrical call through an affiliated group
- Participate in after-hours MFM call for urgent consultations
Academic Appointment
The successful candidate will be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor and will hold a geographical full-time appointment with the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba.
Academic Responsibilities
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and classroom settings
- Contribute to the development of local, regional, and provincial medical guidelines
- Engage in research, scholarly activity, and peer-reviewed publication (preferred)
- Provide leadership and administrative contributions to support innovation and improved patient access to care
Qualifications
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (specialist registry in Obstetrics & Gynecology)
- Graduation from an approved Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship program
- Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or eligibility for residency
- Eligibility for privileges with Shared Health and faculty appointment at the University of Manitoba
Compensation
- Compensation model blends FFS earnings with an Alternate Funding stipend (~ $580,000/year for Full time – excluding after-hours-on-call earnings)
- Benefits, available from the University of Manitoba, include pension, life insurance, disability, dental coverage, supplementary health coverage and a healthcare spending account.
