Educational Qualification
- MS / DNB in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or

Licensure / Registration
- Valid registration with State Medical Council / Medical Council of India (NMC)
Experience Required
- For DNB/MS: Minimum 0–5 years post-qualification experience
- For DGO: Minimum 3–8 years clinical experience in a reputed hospital or maternity setup
Job Summary
The Consultant Gynaecologist is responsible for providing comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, surgical interventions, antenatal and postnatal management, and preventive health counseling. The role involves both OPD and IPD services, participation in delivery and surgical procedures, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Conduct outpatient consultations for obstetric and gynaecological cases.
- Perform antenatal, postnatal, and infertility evaluations.
- Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies, including deliveries and caesarean sections.
- Perform gynaecological surgeries (laparoscopic/open) such as hysterectomy, myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy, etc.
- Manage emergency obstetric cases (e.g., eclampsia, PPH, ectopic pregnancy, etc.).
- Attend to labour room duties, including vaginal deliveries and instrumental deliveries.
- Provide family planning and reproductive health counselling.
Administrative And Supportive Duties
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in EMR/HIS.
- Supervise junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff in the department.
- Participate in departmental meetings, morbidity/mortality reviews, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection control, and clinical safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Academic And Training Responsibilities (if Applicable)
- Contribute to teaching sessions for residents, interns, and nursing staff.
- Participate in CME programs, conferences, and clinical workshops.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and guidelines in obstetrics and gynaecology.
