Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is recruiting for a Prospect Research Analyst to join our Development team!

About the Role: As part of the Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette Development team, the Prospect Research Analyst is responsible for identifying prospects for mid, major, and planned gift cultivation and solicitation. Through prospect identification, research, and management; data acquisition, monitoring and analysis; the Prospect Research Analyst deepens PPCW's relationships with prospects, donors, and supporters. The Prospect Research Analyst plays a vital role in helping PPCW meet its strategic plan and programs for fundraising, engagement, and stewardship.
Schedule Expectations: This is a full-time position, (37.5 hours/week).

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in database management, prospect research, donor relations, gift development or stewardship, or related work.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and develop proactive prospecting methodologies including data mining and sophisticated constituent database inquires.
- Proficiency in supporting and participating in prospect management and tracking processes within fundraising.
- Familiarity with the ever-evolving field of fundraising, current and past trends, and the desire/ability to stay informed of changing practices.
- Demonstrated computer skills and experience working with relational databases and spreadsheets. Ability to download and export information between systems.
- Must possess strong critical thinking, organization, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including presentation of complex data.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge, ResearchPoint, LexisNexis, or other donor and prospecting databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement’s Body of Knowledge and Ethics Statement.
- Familiarity with the work of Planned Parenthood, and/or the reproductive health movement.
- Familiarity with Community-Centric Fundraising (CCF)
Total Rewards: The full wage range for this position is $31.84 to $46.38 hourly. At PPCW we’re proud to calculate a wage offer based on candidate experience, rather than negotiate an offer which leads to pay inequity. New hire wage placement typically does not exceed the midpoint of the wage range. Physical Requirements:
- Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment such as scanners and printers.
- Travel on occasion and attend in-person meetings as requested.
- Work a combination of in-person and remotely as position requires.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends on occasion.
Location: This position is hybrid/telework, meaning you will be working both remotely and in-person at a PPCW location. For this department, employees work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All PPCW employees must reside in Oregon or Washington. The onsite work location for this position is Flanagan Regional Service Center in Northeast Portland, OR.
Essential Functions:
Prospect Identification & Research
- Proactively and independently plan execute creative strategies to identify sources of mid-level and major gift support using research techniques, data mining, and electronic searching methodologies.
- Provide high-level research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using a wide variety of biographical, organizational, and financial sources.
- Assess prospective donors’ financial capacity based on research data.
- Conduct donor identification projects, including internal data mining and external screening tools such as ResearchPoint, to identify new prospective major gift donors.
- Review local and national news and business publications to keep abreast of prospect information, business developments, and economic trends.
Data Analysis & Prospect Strategy
- Mine large sets of data to prioritize and segment prospect lists based on financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity, and relationships to PPCW.
- Develop and execute strategies to ensure that newly identified prospects are presented and assigned to appropriate fundraisers in a timely manner.
- Review, analyze, and segment lists to support annual and mid-level solicitation efforts, including direct mail appeals and digital fundraising campaigns.
- Compose profiles, biographies, and reports tailored to specific audiences, extracting and communicating key information to inform cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Conduct monthly portfolio reviews with mid and major-gift fundraisers to ensure prospect activity is maximized, and cultivation/solicitation strategies are informed by the most up-to-date data.
Prospect Management & Database Support
- Support prospect management and tracking in Raiser’s Edge, including prospect pool and major gift fundraising activity reports, auditing prospect tracking data, and training development staff to ensure database integrity and adherence to standards.
- Track key prospect data in Raiser’s Edge, including maintaining prospect ratings, biographical and philanthropic information, and other relevant details.
Other Responsibilities
- Serve as PPCW’s in-house expert on utilizing ResearchPoint and other prospect research resources and tools.
- Provide guidance and training to development staff on research best practices and database standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
