About The Opportunity
The AMIHS program provides Aboriginal women and their families with culturally safe and responsive midwifery care throughout the antenatal and postnatal periods, in line with a MAPs Model of Care. You will be part of a small but dynamic and highly supportive team consisting of a Clinical Midwife Specialist Grade 2, Aboriginal Health Worker and other experienced midwives who work collaboratively to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal women, babies and families across the Macarthur region.
As a Registered Midwife within the AMIHS program, you will advocate for and support the individual needs of all women and their families, including those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. Your care will be guided by woman-centred, evidence-based midwifery practice that upholds the principles of partnership, respect and cultural safety.

What You'll Be Doing
The midwife is a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period, to conduct births on the midwife's own responsibility and to provide care for the newborn and the infant.
