About the Role
We’re looking for passionate and dedicated Registered Midwives to join our team at Monash Women’s – Dandenong.
We have fixed-term roles, available full-time or part-time.
As a Monash Women’s midwife, you’ll provide women-centred care across the full scope of maternity practice. You’ll work alongside experienced senior staff, clinical mentors, and a diverse, supportive multidisciplinary team across our large and complex health service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with a cohesive team of midwives and broader multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and high-quality care for women.
- Empower and support women and their families through all stages of pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period — advocating for their choices where safe to do so.
- Educate women and families, and provide support and mentorship to junior staff.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in partnership with the wider Monash Women’s team.
About Us
As the acuity and complexity of maternity care grows across the South Eastern corridor, so does our commitment to meeting the needs of women and families.
We proudly care for a culturally diverse population, and our rotational model allows midwives to expand their skills across clinic, birth suite, postnatal care, and extended care in the home. This model promotes continuity of care and enhances both staff experience and patient outcomes.
Our team delivers exceptional, compassionate care — from routine pregnancies to high-risk conditions. Our midwives work alongside Obstetric Registrars and Consultants, providing expert antenatal and perinatal care, including advanced diagnostics and one-to-one support during labour.
With a focus on family-centred care, we offer a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that fosters clinical excellence and ongoing learning.
About You
You're a midwife with a passion for supporting women through one of the most important journeys of their lives.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife (independent practice)
- Demonstrated experience in an acute maternity setting
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- A commitment to evidence-based, holistic care
- Willingness to contribute to quality improvement and research initiatives to advance midwifery care
In Return
At Monash Women’s, you’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive culture that values your professional development and wellbeing.
We offer:
- Generous salary packaging and superannuation
- 5–6 weeks of annual leave
- Option to accrue additional days off (ADO) for full-time staff
- Onsite childcare and breastfeeding rooms
- Easy access to public transport and a central location near Melbourne’s CBD and bayside beaches
