Job Title: Nurse Director, Maternal Child Health (Perm/Direct Hire)

Position Summary
The Nurse Director for Maternal Child Health oversees multiple hospital units, providing strategic leadership and operational direction to ensure the highest standards of patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for designing and implementing best practice models, developing patient care delivery systems, managing resources, and leading quality improvement initiatives within a 24/7 operational environment. The Director will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing teams, and administrative leaders to drive excellence across the continuum of maternal and child health services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and the design of patient care delivery systems and standards across multiple hospital units.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Develop and mentor nursing leaders and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and professional growth.
- Manage operational and project budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with organizational goals.
- Direct initiatives to improve quality, safety, and patient satisfaction in maternal and child health services.
- Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to drive cross-functional collaboration and process improvement.
- Ensure continuous survey readiness and compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory requirements.
- Champion evidence-based practice, patient safety, and staff competency.
- Provide leadership during emergency preparedness and recovery situations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in patient care delivery and 7 years in business operations, clinical health care, or a directly related field.
- At least 2 years of experience managing operational or project budgets and 2 years in a leadership role with direct reports.
- Strong background in Maternal Child Health or Labor & Delivery.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience leading quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Deep understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and accreditation standards.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to manage operational budgets.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare information systems.

Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary Range: $237,000 – $274,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
