A role with unique responsibilities
A Prenatal Coordinator plays a vital role in every patient’s journey. You are responsible for providing clear information and compassionate support to patients undertaking prenatal screening and/or diagnostic testing, including phlebotomy services when required. Through exceptional care and professionalism, you’ll enhance the overall patient experience. Working closely with the broader Genetics and Ultrasound teams, your responsibilities include:
• Providing patients with exceptional care and timely information
• Providing patient consultation for Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) and Reproductive Genetic Carrier Screening (RGS), including communicating low-risk results.
• Explaining diagnostic ultrasound scans and their clinical purpose
• Updating pre-eclampsia risk results with first trimester serology and ensuring reporting/referring doctors are informed of high-risk results
• Providing quality phlebotomy services in line with established protocols
• Ensuring all consent forms and documentation are accurately collected and maintained
• Supporting a safe and professional environment through adherence to policies, procedures, and continuous improvement practices
Are you the ideal candidate for us?
As a Prenatal Coordinator, you will be sensitive to the needs of patients and committed to delivering exceptional service through empathy, communication, and clinical excellence. Ideally, you will bring the following:
• A tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline
• Certificate in Pathology or Phlebotomy and a proficient venepuncture technique (advantageous)
• High-level skills across all facets of prenatal testing and an understanding of clinical and gynaecological services
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation ability
• Proven capacity to multitask with excellent organisational and time management skills
• Dynamic, adaptable and committed to continuous learning and development
• A willingness to embody the Monash IVF Group Principles: Care, Collaborate, Communicate, Commitment and Create
