Responsibilities
Labor and Delivery RNs (L&D RNs) are responsible for monitoring patients throughout labor and serve as the primary point of contact for family members. L&D RNs monitor the baby’s heart rate and provide immediate care to the newborn. L&D RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform knowledge of phlebotomy, basic IV, and central lines
- Assess and record maternal vital signs throughout labor and post-partum stages
- Administer pain medication and other medicines as ordered
- Educate and support new mothers and families on infant care
Required Certifications and Experience
- Current RN licensure (RN certification)
- Prior labor and delivery (L&D) experience, including labor, recovery, and neonatal assessment
- Ability to perform procedures such as C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries
- Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and OB emergencies (preferred)
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Certification in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Fetal monitoring training and experience
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Flexibility to float within the facility as needed
- Capable of completing daily patient and safety round

- Available shifts: Nights (7p-7a)
- Contract length: 13 weeks
