About The Opportunity
As a Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) midwife, you’ll be the primary care provider for low-risk women throughout their entire pregnancy journey—from antenatal care to birth and the postnatal period. Enjoy the benefits of a 29% on-call loading in addition to your base Registered Midwife wage, and work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital with cutting-edge facilities including a modern Antenatal Clinic and Birthing Unit, set to open by the end of the year.
This advanced role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based continuity of care with a strong focus on woman-centred practice. You’ll manage your own caseload, lead care planning, and provide mentorship and support to fellow clinicians. Your expertise will help shape positive outcomes for women and their families across all stages of maternity care.
You’ll be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, working closely with the MGP consultant to ensure safe, personalised care. Support is always at hand from the broader maternity team, including CME, CMS2, CMCs, NUMs, and the Nurse Manager.

What you'll be doing
The Registered Midwife-Midwifery Group Practice coordinates and delivers high quality woman and newborn- centered continuity of care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s standards of Practice for Midwives, and the policies and procedures of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and South Western Sydney Local Health District.
The Midwifery Group Practice midwife is responsible and accountable for delivering quality woman focused, evidence based midwifery care at an advanced level across all continuums of pregnancy, labour and birth and the postnatal period. The Midwifery Group Practice Midwife will also provide leadership, planning and coordination of care for women in her caseload, and provide support and mentorship to other clinicians.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.

Registered Midwife with a minimum of 12 months Midwifery post registration experience and availability to work and participate in an on-call roster across the continuum of care that includes pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period as specified in the Pilot Annualised Salary Agreement.

Demonstrates commitment to professional development, including evidence informed practice and the acquisition and retention of comprehensive Midwifery skills (to be completed within 12 months of commencement).

Demonstrated competency for midwifery practice related to antenatal care, labour and birth, postnatal care, lactation and infant feeding in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council competency standards for midwives.

Describe how you apply critical thinking and evidence-based practice to deliver safe, high-quality midwifery care, while effectively communicating and collaborating with patients, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team. Include examples of how you work autonomously and ethically, advocate for women, and contribute to risk management, workplace safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
