We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child and Maternal Health Nurse to work in an engaging and rewarding environment. This role offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of Indigenous families by delivering vital health services and education across remote communities in the Western Australia.
Further Details - Initially fixed-term for up to 6 months with potential to turn into permanent
- Attractive salary package -$117,000.00 per annum, pro-rata

Key Responsibilities - Deliver comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care for mothers and babies, addressing health education, nutrition, immunisation, and early childhood development.
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health team to plan and implement community outreach programs tailored to maternal and child health.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments for children and families, with a focus on early intervention, prevention, and wellness support.
- Educate and support families on child development, nutrition, safe practices, and health-related topics to empower parents and caregivers.
- Establish trusted relationships within the community, upholding cultural sensitivity and awareness in all interactions.
- Participate in regular team meetings, contributing to continuous improvement in service delivery and patient outcomes.
The location
Located in the stunning Kimberley region of WA, you will be working in a small, vibrant community of around 4,000 people. This unique environment presents both challenges and exciting opportunities to make a significant impact in healthcare, particularly in the area of Maternal & Child Health.
Selection Criteria - Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA
- Postgraduate qualifications in Child and Maternal Health Nursing
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maternal and child health (ideally in rural or remote settings)
- Must be comfortable participating in an on-call roster
- Valid Australian driver’s license and willingness to travel between remote communities as required
- National Police Check within the past 12 months
- Current Working with Children Check
- Must have full working rights for Australia (i.e. Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia/New Zealand, or a current, valid visa with no restrictions).
