The Position
The midwife is responsible for providing the necessary care to meet the identified needs of a patient on the ante and post natal ward and general ward allocated to his/her care.
Interview and examine the patient, document the assessment findings.
Whilst promoting an environment of confidence, confidentiality and respect, identify through discussion with the patient, family and relevant others, actual and potential problems.
Assess and document the anticipated needs of the pregnant woman and family during and following hospitalisation.
Perform the planned nursing care, setting priorities and reestablishing priorities in changing circumstances.
Routinely review the results of diagnostic procedures and investigations.
Systematically evaluate and document the outcomes of nursing/medical interventions and report significant findings promptly.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife, have well developed analytical and problem-solving skills and knowledge of acts and legislation that impact on the practice of nursing.
