This post will involve working as part of a team of doctors covering the specialties of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Opportunities are available to attend day surgery and main theatre lists as well as working in Gynaecology emergency inpatients, labour ward and our post natal ward.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities of the post holder
Whilst on duty the post holder has clinical and professional responsibility for their patients. It is also the duty of the post holder to:
Keep patients (and/or their carers as appropriate) informed about their condition.
Involve patients and/or their carers if appropriate in decision making about their treatment.
Maintain professional standards and obligations as set out from time to time by the General Medical Council and comply in particular with the GMC's guidance on 'Good Medical Practice'
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out any work related to and reasonably incidental to the duties set out in their Job Description such as:
The keeping of records and the provision of reports
The proper delegation of tasks
Maintaining skills and knowledge

To provide medical care to patients as required ensuring that the appropriate standards of care are delivered through a multidisciplinary and Hospital at Night team. To maintain patient confidentiality and ensure that personal access to information systems is secure from others. To maintain a safe environment for patient and colleagues. To ensure that accurate records of care are maintained and that information is accurately and appropriately communicated to other professionals as required. To attend the whole range of clinical delivery settings (EPAGU, OPD, Labour ward, Theatres, Wards etc.)

Essential
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology for 3-4 years
- Qualified to undertake on-call work on the SPR Tier in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Desirable
- Up to date in emergency obstetric procedures
Academic achievements
Essential
- MRCOG Part I
- Working towards MRCOG Part 2 or 3
Desirable
- An interest in medical education and excellent teaching skills which include an ability to explain clinical concepts to medical students
