Provider CNA
BASIC PURPOSE: Provides comprehensive OBGYN care in a physician office setting, by taking responsibility for the assisting provider with care of patients in the office.
THIS IS A STANDING/WALKING POSITION WORKING DIRECTLY WITH PHYSICIANS.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE.
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO WORK MONDAY - THURSDAY 8:30a-5:30p AND FRIDAY 8:30a-2p.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES:
1. Ensure room readiness prior to patient visit. This includes completing all necessary paperwork (when applicable), and ensuring that all necessary equipment is available to the provider for the visit
2. Greet patients and visitors in a prompt courteous, cheerful and professional manner.
3. Direct full attention to patients and visitors and makes eye contact.
4. Set-up the patient room in accordance to what service the patient is having that visit. Guidelines are outlined for review.
5. Identifies reason for today’s visit and validate with patient prior to exiting the room.
6. Provide educational materials to patient of condition(s) as needed.
7. Retrieve medication samples and literature for patients as per provider orders.
8. Assist in OBGYN patient care under direction of physician or provider.
9. Instruct patients in collection of samples and tests.
10. Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering clinical supplies. Labels all multi-dose injectable vials with “opened” date.
11. Disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
12. Ensure clinical equipment is cleaned and/or sterilized according to recommendations and regulations.
13. Stocking of patient rooms and bathrooms with needed supplies for patient visits every morning and afternoon.
14. Maintain good communication with administrative staff throughout the day to ensure smooth and efficient patient care.
15. Shows respect, courtesy and advocacy in all dealings with all people, including, but not limited to patients, coworkers, and visitors.
16. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner
17. Use all electronic and computerized resources to provide timely and accurate patient care.
18. Operate telephone system, facsimile machine, copier and other office equipment as needed.
19. Cooperate in departmental cross training.
20. Attend meetings as required
21. Maintain information in a confidential manner and complies with state, federal, and practice guideline.
22. Others duties as assigned by provider, Clinical Supervisor or Practice Administrator

6. Skill in greeting patients and answering the phone in a pleasant, clear and helpful manner.

14. Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care.

16. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedure to administer patient care.
17. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
18. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
19. Ability to maintain quality control standards (results tracking and lab controls).
20. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
