What you’ll do
- Solid working knowledge of the issues of violence against women
- Demonstrate an understanding and experience supporting clients affected by mental health, substance-use, poverty, and discrimination based on ethnicity, class, sexual orientation and other intersections of marginalization
- Experience with critical incident de-escalation, response and debriefing an asset
- A trauma informed and response based practice approach
- Accurately record day to day happenings using the appropriate methods; intake forms, maintain communication logs and complete all forms required.
What you’ll bring
- Willingness to learn and be a part of a team
- Post-secondary education, experience working with relevant population, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of Criminal Record check
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills essential
- Culturally competent
- Knowledge of local resources
