Job Description
The Surgical GYN/GU Nurse Coordinator is an integral part of the surgical team. This position is responsible for providing directions for the surgical team members and assisting the surgeons as deem necessary to ensure the highest possible level of care is rendered. There are multiple responsibilities, all of which correlates with anticipating and providing the best care for the patient – including education and training for staff members in the surgery care patient, training and development of instrumentation, ordering and maintenance of supplies, equipment and technological record keeping and data entry for quality measures.
Qualifications
Licensure/Certification/Registration

Required: Current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or a compact state.

Preferred: Certification in a specialty area is preferred.
Life Support Certification
-
Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
Education/Knowledge

Attained Level: Associates Degree

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree

Completed Course Work/Program: Nursing
Applicable Experience

Experience (years): Required: 2 years

Experience: Surgery Circulating and Scrub (preferred)
Technical/Clinical Skills
Microsoft Office Suite Skill Level
