Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Midwife to join our team of Physicians, Midwifes and Nurse Practitioners. This vital role contributes significantly to our mission by providing comprehensive care to women, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Each OBGYN specialist enriches the patient visit with their expertise and works hard to individualize patient care with evidence-based practice. AkermanMed Midwives also offer alternative and holistic methods.
When risk factors arise, CNMs will always have a backup Obstetrician to consult with, co-manage, and in some cases transfer care.
Our team has privileges for surgeries and deliveries at St Joseph Hospital of Orange and HOAG Newport.
Responsibilities
- Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for patients
- Conduct physical examinations and assess patient health
- Monitor vital signs and patient progress during labor
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop care plans
- Educate patients on family planning and newborn care
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA
- Support patients emotionally throughout their pregnancy journey
- Qualifications
- Valid Midwifery certification and licensure
- Extensive hospital experience in obstetrics and OBGYN experience in office
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to childbirth
- Experience with sonography preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for medical documentation
- Bilingual: English - Spanish preferred

Pay: $84.00 - $95.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
