We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead and grow our nursing department and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of fertility care at our Melbourne clinic.
About the Role
As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for building, managing, and mentoring our nursing team while ensuring that patient care remains at the heart of everything we do. This role is both strategic and hands-on, with responsibilities across clinical leadership, team development, patient care, compliance, and operational efficiency.
You will work closely with our Medical Director, Scientific Director, clinicians, counsellors, and administration team to ensure seamless delivery of services that meet both patient needs and business growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the nursing department, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Develop, implement, and oversee nursing policies, systems, and protocols to ensure world-class patient care.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing staff, ensuring mandatory training and performance reviews are consistently maintained.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance in line with RTAC, WH&S, and industry standards.
- Monitor and manage patient feedback, resolving clinical complaints with professionalism and care.
- Lead operational planning, including resource allocation, rostering, and procurement of clinical supplies.
- Collaborate with the executive team to support business growth, financial performance, and strategic initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife (AHPRA).
- Significant experience in infertility nursing, with ongoing professional development in the field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing nursing teams within a healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of compliance, quality assurance, and clinical governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with patients, staff, and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to managing challenges and driving continuous improvement.
- Valid driver’s license and passport (ability to travel nationally/internationally as required).
Desirable: Midwifery qualifications and/or tertiary management qualifications.
