This position is located within the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF), Office of the Medical Director (OMD). The mission of DHCF is to improve health outcomes by providing access to comprehensive, cost-effective and quality healthcare services for residents of the District of Columbia. The incumbent serves as a Maternal Health Coordinator responsible for aligning maternal health activities across DHCF and the District of Columbia, including providing clinical oversight, engaging participating providers and sites, leading standing maternal health advisory groups, and providing feedback to federal agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses and evaluates maternal health clinical needs across Medicaid managed care and fee-for-service programs; analyzes utilization of maternal health services; makes recommendations to the OMD and DHCF executive team to improve maternal health outcomes. Leads and participates in meetings and discussions with providers, plans, community-based organizations, and advisory committees on maternal health service delivery and clinical issues.
Analyzes opportunities to support eligible Medicaid beneficiaries and providers. Works collaboratively with grant recipients, providers, and key community stakeholders to meet care delivery milestones. Works with District DC Health Information Exchange partners to understand key clinical considerations for appropriate data sharing to support both maternal health care coordination and referrals to address health related social needs and behavioral health needs. Serves as a clinical liaison to other providers, sites, community-based organizations, and government agencies. Assists with the review of maternal health utilization and health outcomes data; makes appropriate recommendations to the programmatic teams.
Qualifications and Education
Specialized Experience – Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and this is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, at least one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization

Tour of Duty: Monday – Friday; 8:15 am - 4:45 pm
Duration of Appointment: Career Service - Term Not-to-Exceed (NTE) 13 months. This is a grant funded position; continued employment will be contingent upon available funding.

Collective Bargaining Unit -This position is not covered under a collecting bargaining agreement.
Position Designation: This position has been designated as security sensitive therefore the incumbent of this position will be subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC Personnel Regulations, Suitability and as such, incumbents of this position shall be subject to criminal background checks, background investigations, and mandatory drug and alcohol testing, as applicable.
