POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs patient registration and clerical functions with periodic administrative support to the Maternal Fetal Medicine leadership, physicians and staff, meets the needs of all MFM patients by providing a variety of services.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of secretarial science program and/or medical assistant program, some college or higher level degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous medical assistant and secretarial experience required.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Medical terminology and computer literacy required. Ability to interact with patients in stressful situations and changing work environments related to changing patient needs. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to work cooperatively with health system, patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e. physicians, technologists, etc.) Ability to utilize effective time management skills to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Excellent organizational, critical thinking and analytical skills required. Demonstrates expertise in Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
