Recovery Nurse – Austin, TX

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Recovery Nurse to join our fast-paced, rapidly growing fertility clinic. In this role, you will provide expert nursing care to both pre-op and post-op surgical patients, including male and female patients undergoing procedures such as TESA/MESA/PESA, Egg Retrieval, Hysteroscopy, D&C, and Embryo Transfers. Knowledge of infertility care is a plus.

You will report to the Clinic Nurse Manager and work collaboratively with physicians and the clinical team to ensure high-quality patient care. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, excellent communication, and superior customer service. Hours will be based on clinic needs and staff coverage requirements, including temporary maternity leave coverage and changes in FTE status.

Responsibilities

Surgical Nursing:

Conduct pre-op and post-op assessments and provide care to surgical patients.
Collect, interpret, and document relevant patient data accurately and completely.
Communicate patient conditions to physicians and other providers as needed.
Discharge patients per provider approval and clinic protocols.
Ensure all paperwork, including consent forms (e.g., IVF retrieval consents), is accurate, complete, and signed.
Perform and document post-op follow-up calls with patients.
Respond calmly and efficiently in emergent situations, demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures and equipment.

Who You Are

Current RN license in Texas
BLS and ACLS certified
Minimum 1 year of operating room, PACU, or critical care experience
Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in other clinical roles
Experienced with EMR systems and G-Suite
Strong phlebotomy skills
Passionate about women’s health; fertility experience is a plus
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Flexible, adaptable, and detail-oriented
Exhibits professionalism, empathy, and superior customer service
Ability to exercise independent judgment while collaborating with the team
Courteous, compassionate, and respectful with patients and staff
