Job Description
We are searching for a Supply Chain Buyer I -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will serve as a team member in purchasing to ensure goods and services get delivered to Texas Children’s on time. Procure goods and services assigned in one of four commodity areas for all Texas Children's departments and entities from the receipt of an approved requisition until complete delivery and final settlement of all associated invoices.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiates and Coordinates purchase orders for products and services For Texas Children’s and its entities.
- Supports back-order management to limit supply disruption. Participate in daily backorder strategy by responding to action items from procurement planner II and senior procurement planner.
- Works with departments to serve their needs. Works closely with all departments to service their needs promptly by providing research and advice on products and contracts and interpreting purchasing policies and procedures.
- Handles emergency orders to ensure operations are not impacted.
- Serves as a liaison between the vendors and internal customers.
- Support match exceptions metrics for assigned areas. Responds to A/P's requests for assistance on all invoice and purchase order discrepancies within one day with no more than three complaints per quarter.
- Support/assist with Procurement Planner II and Senior Procurement Planner responsibilities during team member absence assigned by Management within the required timeframe.
Skills & Requirements
- Required High School Diploma or GED. Preferred bachelor's degree
- Required 3 years healthcare experience
- A bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience
