Trans Ova Genetics, a leader in advanced reproductive technologies, is seeking a part time IVF Embryologist Assistant to support our team in Madison, WI. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced embryologists in a role that helps support the future of the livestock industry through innovative reproductive science.
As an IVF Embryologist Assistant, your core responsibility will be stripping embryos, which is a delicate, time-sensitive procedure that requires excellent focus, fine motor skills, and adherence to strict protocols.
Our ideal candidate is located in or near Madison, WI with part time availability in the early mornings or late evenings, equaling to 15-20 hours throughout the week. This candidate would be comfortable in a sterile lab setting and carry a passion for innovation.
Shifts Available
- Tuesday - Friday: late evenings
- Wednesday - Saturday: early mornings
Key Responsibilities
- Embryo stripping and culture.
- Assist in maintaining semen and embryo inventory.
- Fertilization and culture plate preparation.
- Recordkeeping/Data Entry.
- Assist in Quality Control and lab cleanliness.
- Supply inventory management.
- Maintain good laboratory technique and follow lab protocols.
- Follow Trans Ova’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional image reflective of Trans Ova’s industry position.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Ability to sit for long periods of time behind a microscope, in a lab setting.
- Flexible working hours.
- Weekend and holiday work.
- Ability to perform tasks efficiently in outlined time frames.
Other Skills/experience
- Prior hands-on experience in laboratory is appreciated but not required.
- Knowledge of the cattle industry is appreciated but not required.
- Good hand-to-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Works effectively in a team as well as alone (ability to work independently).
- Takes initiative and is a self-starter.
- Ability to communicate honestly, effectively, and empathetically with team members.
