Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our growing OB/GYN team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for women’s health, experience (or interest) in managing low-risk pregnancies and deliveries, and the ability to communicate effectively with a multicultural patient population. Fluency in Spanish is a strong plus, as many of our patients are Spanish-speaking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full-scope midwifery care including prenatal visits, labor & delivery, postpartum follow-up, and routine gynecologic care
- Independently manage low-risk labors and births in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff
- Conduct patient education on childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, contraception, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate closely with OB/GYN physicians on high-risk cases and ensure appropriate care coordination
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation in the EMR
- Participate in shared call schedule, including nights and weekends
- Contribute to quality improvement and patient education initiatives
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nurse-Midwifery from an accredited program
- Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
- Current RN and CNM licenses in New York State (or eligibility to obtain)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required (ACLS a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and culturally sensitive bedside manner
- Spanish language proficiency is a strong plus
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship is available
