Job Purpose: The Purchasing Specialist enhances the effectiveness of the Operations Department by providing information management support, by implementing administrative systems, procedures, and policies, and by monitoring purchasing platforms. This position performs complex administrative, analytical work. This is a responsible position that works very independently, with minimal instruction or supervision.
Essential Functions And Accountabilities
- Maintaining the IVI America Purchasing Platform with updated products
- Reviewing pricing between vendors to ensure we are remaining competitive
- Source consumables or equipment from other vendors if there are shortages
- Handle the setup of new Practices with our current preferred vendors
- Price out equipment as directed for replacement or new practices
- Keep GPO agreements updated with all practices
Academic Training
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred but associates degree with applicable work experience acceptable
Position Requirements/Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years’ relevant work experience
Technical Skills
- Basic computer skills; word and email - required
- Knowledge of office procedure and office machines (i.e., computer, fax, copier, etc.).
