About the Role

The primary purpose of the Advanced Nurse Practice (APN) position is to be a skilled health provider who through a written collaborative practice agreement with a physician and credentialed through the Medical Staff Office, utilizes critical judgment in the performance of comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis and the prescribing of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. APN practice promotes wellness through conducting research, providing education, and impacting public policy and works autonomously as well as in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants. The APN is self-directed and purposeful in seeking necessary knowledge and skills to develop and maintain competency. The APN required is flexibility in incorporating skills throughout the specialty including but not limited to Prenatal/Post-Partum Obstetrics, Gynecology, Infertility, GYN Oncology, Reproductive Choice, Pediatrics, and other related programs

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As a member of the Medical Staff, the Advanced Practice Nurse demonstrates standards of professional practice that includes ethical decision making, job activities related to quality assessment/improvement, self-evaluation, leadership, and research.
Joint Protocols are reviewed through an annual Collaborative Practice Agreement with the Collaborating Physician and signed by both parties.
Collects comprehensive client health data/history and physicals; diagnostic tests and procedures relevant to the patient’s status is initiated and interpreted.
Prescribes/and or orders medications and devices on a New Jersey Prescription Blank, signs his/her name to the prescription, certification number and prints his/her name.
Provides comprehensive clinical coordination of care and case management negotiated with client, appropriate systems, agencies, and providers.
Documents assessment, prescribing, plan, modifications to plan, and evaluation of care in the appropriate designated chart/form/electronic record.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required:

A current Registered/Professional Nurse license and registration in the State of New Jersey is required.
Completion of an educational program which is designed and conducted to prepare graduates to practice as an NP/APN with a master’s degree in nursing and eligible for certification by a national certifying body.
Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving are essential.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience of clinical nursing experience and current BLS certification are required

Preferred:

Knowledge and experience in obstetrics and gynecology is strongly preferred.
Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations preferred.

Credential Required:

Current NJ License and Registration; Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse, by the Board of Nursing, with specialization as indicated
BLS Certification

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is UD/07S: $136,294 - $165,416.00 - $186,385.00 in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
