Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess a strong background in medical-surgical procedures, Primary care, women health.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine clinical tasks on daily basis to support medical staff
Ability to check patients in, complete registration, check insurance eligibility.
Greet incoming patients and escort them to exam rooms after taking the vital signs
Obtain and update the complete patient history and chief complaint
Check for any outstanding biopsies, samples for labs
Assist providers with medical & cosmetic procedures
Provide and reinforce patient education following procedures and office visits
Set up for select procedures including biopsies, surgical procedures
Complete pathology requisition forms with complete and updated patient information
Maintain a daily log of biopsies and cultures performed by each provider
Maintain an accurate account of specimens and record on cover sheets of lab bags
Clean and sterilize instruments
Maintain medical supply inventory
Clean, organize and supply patient rooms
Dispose of garbage and medical waste material to the appropriate container
Check rooms at end of day to make certain they are stocked for the next day
Review and follow posted OSHA instructions/requirements including hazardous waste, needle stick injury, etc.
Experience with eCW (E- Clinical works) EHR is a plus, but not required.
Schedule surgical procedures at the affiliated hospitals and surgery center
Obtain prior authorization for procedures and medications
Document in the EHT the clinical outcome measures such as HEDIS measures
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous experience in healthcare preferably in Primary care and Women Health
Customer service experience preferred
Ability to give injections is a plus
Medical Assistant Certification is required (will need to provide documentation)
Ability to work well with providers to anticipate and support their needs
Build rapport other staff members
Familiarity with medical billing procedures is a plus
Excellent Communication skills and strong organizational skills are a must
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
