JOB DESCRIPTION
We are actively seeking a Medical Technologist / Andrologist to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Lab Director, the technologist is responsible for providing laboratory services and working directly with patients, clinical staff, and laboratory personnel. Additionally, the responsibility includes assisting other Technologists in daily duties and to provide support for all areas of the Andrology laboratory, as well for the IVF laboratory, as needed. The technologist aids with scheduling, accepting and processing samples, maintaining safe lab practices, performing all documentation related to Andrology lab work, and maintaining necessary local, state, and government accreditations and certifications.
We have an immediate opening for a part-time employee to join our team. The schedule is Monday - Friday from (7am-noon) with some occasional weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform laboratory services in accordance with all clinical and governmental regulatory standards.

Assure the identity (chain of custody), accuracy, and completion of laboratory testing in a timely manner.

Help order and receive laboratory supplies.

Maintains QC/QA according to laboratory and state regulations.

Perform all duties in the Andrology laboratory including, but not limited to:
- Semen Analysis: concentration, motility, viability, and morphology of sperm
- Process semen specimens for ART procedures and intrauterine insemination (IUI) preps

Semen cryopreservation, storage, inventory, and warming procedures

Ordering supplies

Sending, receiving, and disposition of cryopreserved specimens

Donor specimen ordering, receiving, storage, processing, and reporting

Media preparations
- Daily start-up and shut down. Daily, weekly, and monthly lab maintenance.

Data entry (paperwork/computer/EMR).

Maintain safe lab practices- appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), sterile techniques, and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Applicant Requirements

Bachelors' degree in biology science; MLT ASCP certification or equivalent

Tissue culture experience and/or semen processing a plus

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
