Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in Kotzebue, AK. This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive obstetric care in a critical access facility serving a remote community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
- Monitor fetal and maternal well-being and respond to emergent situations
- Perform assessments, administer medications, and assist physicians during labor and delivery
- Care for postpartum patients and newborns
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EMR
- Participate in inpatient unit coverage when needed
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Alaska – Required
- Fetal Monitoring Certification – Required (from an accredited organization)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required
- ACLS – Required
- LDRP experience – Required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in maternal-child health settings
- Must be flexible and comfortable working in a rural environment
