This is a full time 40 hours per week position within Western Ohio OB/GYN.
Qualifications:

High school or equivalent

Computer skills and EHR experience, Epic preferred

1+ year receptionist experience, medical office preferred
Responsibilities:

Greeting visitors with kindness and respect.

Scheduling and rescheduling appointments.

Answering phones and checking voicemails for all of practice. Attention to detail when taking messages and routing them to the appropriate clinical staff member or provider. Call patients back for clarification or need additional information.

Checking patients in and out, scanning copy of insurance and ID, collecting copays and patient balances, and balancing cash drawer.

Updating all demographic information accurately into Epic at each visit (Address, Phone, Email, Insurance, etc).

Helps patients or family member’s complete intake forms (Consent to Treat and Authorization to Release Health Information) to be attached to the patients’ medical record.

Medical records requests both incoming and outgoing. Document received medical records request in telephone message and scan into chart.

Scanning records for all of practice including nurses and providers.

Verification of insurance and pre-certification if needed.

Send refill request to providers. Enter telephone call for patient request and voicemails. Callback patients to get clarification. If requesting alternative medication document. Include medication name, how it’s taken, quantity requested e.g. 30 or 90 day, and pharmacy sending to. Inform patient we have 48-72 hours to send in medication refills.

Send pharmacy medication request or clarification. Enter telephone call, medication name, how it’s taken, quantity requested 30 or 90 day supply, and pharmacy calling, sending to, phones, fax, and pharmacist or tech name calling.

Write letters for patients per provider’s request (e.g. utility services).

Sort received faxes and send faxes for practice.

Make copies of needed documents.

Maintain standards of confidentiality and participate in unit compliance.
