Overview
We are seeking a caring midwife with a minimum of two years of experience in Labor and Delivery to join our healthcare team. The midwife will be responsible for the physical, mental, and emotional care of their patients throughout the delivery process. You will provide prenatal and postnatal education, examine patients during the course of their pregnancy, and assist them in creating birth plans. You will also ensure the health and well-being of the newborn and mother during delivery. Must be licensed in Georgia to practice.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history and vital signs monitoring.
- Provide prenatal care, including routine examinations and screenings.
- Assist in labor and delivery, ensuring safe and effective childbirth experiences.
- Perform IV insertion and manage pain relief options during labor.
- Collect and process specimens as required for diagnostic testing.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient encounter.
- Educate patients on health practices, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with Ob/Gyn specialists as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Implement coding for medical documentation to ensure proper record-keeping.
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited School of Nursing and Midwifery and certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board; additional education and certification are a plus.
- Preferred 2 years of current CNM experience. Will consider new graduates with 2 years of experience as a bedside labor and delivery nurse. Certification as a Midwife with relevant licensure in the state of practice.
- Experience in labor and delivery, as well as patient care, within a maternal health setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical documentation, including coding practices.
- Strong skills in patient assessment and vital signs monitoring.
- Ability to perform specimen collection processing accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and support patients.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
