DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF SERVICE
Our patients come to us with a wide range of gynecologic needs. We are the only OB/GYN practice in the area, so our physicians see all the consults from the surrounding primary care providers as well as from our own midwives who focus on routine OB and well-person care. Physician office days largely consist of interesting consults and a variety of office procedures. Physicians see 12-14 patients a day and work in the office 3-4 days per week. Physicians also have 3 dedicated OR days per month on average. The hospital has three brand new operating rooms with advanced laparoscopic capabilities.
The hospital does 250-300 births a year. Birth center services include VBACs, water birth, 24-hour epidural service, and nitrous oxide for laboring patients.
Call is manageable, with physicians taking home call as back up to our midwives. Midwives handle uncomplicated vaginal deliveries, routine labor management, and return patient calls after hours. Call is shared between all the physicians, and any extra call taken is generously compensated.
