Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - OB/GYN
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN), you will be responsible for providing care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. You will also assist with gynecological procedures and provide support for women's reproductive health issues.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess the health of pregnant women and their unborn babies
2. Assist with labor and delivery, including providing emotional support and pain management
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
4. Educate patients on prenatal care, breastfeeding, and postpartum care
5. Perform gynecological exams and procedures, such as Pap smears and pelvic exams
6. Provide counseling and support for women experiencing reproductive health issues
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
8. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
9. Assist with postpartum care, including monitoring for complications and providing support for new mothers
10. Provide support and education to patients and their families throughout the pregnancy and childbirth process
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license
2. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Certification in OB/GYN nursing (COCN) preferred
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in obstetrics or gynecology
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
7. Knowledge of current practices and trends in OB/GYN nursing
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
9. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
10. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
