The School of Nursing has state-of-the art teaching facilities, run by staff with extensive clinical and academic experience. Our focus is on ensuring that our ākonga undertaking the Bachelor of Nursing programme are fully equipped and work-ready to meet the demands of the ever-changing healthcare environment. UCOL School of Nursing delivers quality programmes to our ākonga in an environment where we care about the individual.
We are seeking an exceptional registered nurse to join our highly motivated and supportive team in providing nursing education to the future nursing workforce of Aotearoa New Zealand. As a Lecturer, Nurse Education, you will provide evidence-based teaching for the Bachelor of Nursing programme, supporting ākonga to demonstrate the Nursing Council of New Zealand Standards of Competence. You will be an active contributor to the development and delivery of the programme. You will teach ākonga in the classroom and simulation lab, through the online learning environment, and within clinical settings. In addition to this, you will be supported to actively engage in professional development and research opportunities.
There is the opportunity for a full-time, permanent position based either in Palmerston North or Whanganui. Competitive salary, subject to qualifications and experience.

- You have at least three years Registered Nurse registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- You are culturally competent and are committed to working in a manner which upholds the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- You have a passion for sharing your clinical knowledge and expertise
- You are wanting to make a real difference to the future of New Zealand’s nursing workforce
- You are comfortable working with ākonga in both the classroom and clinical settings
- You are available to work across our Palmerston North and Whanganui campuses
